Biography

EXO-CHIKA and Raveman were classmates in highschool and shared a fondness for western horror movies and peculiar art. After graduation, they were both active in different music projects until they decided to become heroes of the dark scene with EXO-CHIKA as a vampire and Raveman as a butcher straight out from a b-movie. Aural Vampire was born.

Their debut album Vampire Ecstasy was released in 2004, followed by the online only publication Death Folderin 2005, which included three songs and a flash animation called Economical Animal Superstars. It can be downloaded free of charge from their official site in order to reach enthusiasts of dark music all around the world.

In February 2007, Aural Vampire started their first international tour, leading them to Germany and the Netherlands where they performed with Sins of Flesh and The Pussybats. In May, they returned to Germany and France with Tokyo Decadence and in August they signed with Avex, a major japanese record label specialised in dance and pop-music. They came back to Germany again in September, performing at the inmotion Asian Pacific Festival in Berlin before an audience of thousands. Raveman was also at the turntables along with DJ Sisen within the Tokyo Dance Night. Tokyo Dance Night lead them to the Netherlands and Finland as well, but unfortunately two more gigs in Europe scheduled for December had to be cancelled.

Aural Vampire are planning their first appearance in the US in March at the Anime Matsuri 2008 in Houston, Texas, along with the electronic duo Bespa Kumamero.
